Mary Holmes

Mary, from MN, then IA and college in KS, moved to Europe at 20 with an interdenominational mission group “Operation Mobilization” – living and working in Spain, Belgium, England and Germany-being involved in all aspects of ‘missions’ from field, to office to home.  She met and married Peter Holmes in the mid 70’s.

Since the 90’s she found her real area of interest to be Prayer Walking on sites of historical damage throughout Europe.    Moving to Tiki Island just before IKE, Mary found the Lord redefining ‘missions’ for her at home in the States – and has a special heart to see Tiki Island Chapel become more and more of a ‘home’, ‘home base’ and ‘safe place’ for ‘whosoever will’ …

Pat Forke

Tiki Island has been my home for nine years.  Prior to moving to Tiki, I lived in Friendswood for ten years.  I have been in the retail business for 25.  I have completed the Galveston County Master Gardening program. I currently am education editor for our bi-monthly newsletter.  I earned a Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake in 2002 and a Bachelor’s with a business/education major also from University of Houston in 1970.  I have worked in the Public Affairs and Human Resource departments at Exxon Corporation and have taught in the Aldine ISD and North Harris County Community College.  I serve on the board of the Quilt Trade Association and am a free-lance writer and pattern designer for several trade and retail publications.  I belong to several historical societies and quilt guilds.  On Tiki, I am a member of the Tiki Island Chapel, the Tiki Island Book Club, the Tiki Island Quilters and the Tiki Island Bikers.

I have enjoyed working the gardens at our Chapel,  participating in our bible study group and the making of prayer quilts.  I enjoyed working on our spring festival and look forward to whatever else God places in my path.  I believe our chapel is currently at a most opportune position to grow our membership and to develop relationships with our community.  My responsibilities as elder include the building and grounds.
